Review for ASICS GEL-Fujirado men's Trail Running shoes


Arriving last summer is the ASICS Gel Fujirado, a new member to the ASICS trail line-up. As a direct replacement for the FujiAttack, the Fujirado offers the same midsole and outsole tooling while incorporating new upper features that should set it apart.

One such feature is the addition of The BOA® System, a lacing system composed of an adjustable turn dial, durable laces, and low friction lace guides. The three parts work in unison to allow runners to make quick adjustments for a secure, precise fit.

However, instead of the common nylon or steel laces, the Fujirado will use the softer TX4 lacing material to limit the pressure points and irritation that can be common with the Closure System’s tight fit. Another addition is the MONO SOCK construction that creates a soft, snug wrap around your foot and acts as a protective barrier to seal out debris.

Similar to the FujiAttack, this shoe will pack GEL technology in the heel along with SPEVA foam across the midsole.

This combination of technologies should provide a slightly responsive ride with sufficient cushion. Outsole construction will feature High Abrasion Rubber with 3mm lugs that should give you exceptional traction across a variety of surfaces.

History of ASICS 

In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan.  
He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body."  

Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness.
