To avoid him from hogging my mobile devices, I bought him an inexpensive RCA tablet. That helped set boundaries, but I always felt I had lack of control on what my son could be exposed to on the Internet.Nabi solves it for me. Right from the un-boxing, it felt like a quality product. Starting it up and setup was a breeze. The best thing is that the tablet has a parent account where i can control what apps are installed, and monitor which apps my son is using. Example: if he's playing too many games I could get rid of a few of them from the parent account (it's an admin account). I haven't explored all the pre-installed apps yet, but they look like good quality apps. The kinds you would pay $1-$3 if you buy separately. You can install more from the Android marketplace. He constantly likes to play on my phone so we have been looking at getting him a tablet for some time. The nabi stuck out to us because we wanted something that was a safer option and more educational. I feel safe letting my son use it and the design is better for a kid than the traditional iPad or tablet. Also all the preloaded content is worth the money. You don't have to worry about downloading games or learning material because it's already on the tablet. It does give you the flexibility to control access to google play store if you want to add some of your own Apps though as well. As far as my son liking the tablet, he constantly has something new he wants to share with me or his mom so I feel like he is a happy camper. We just need to get him to use the chore list it comes with and I'll be the happy one.
