Every set of dinnerware you see, usually comes with a set of mugs that are awkwardly shaped, don't hold enough liquid, and for me just sit up in the cupboard collecting dust. I received my set today and as soon as I picked up the box, I heard rattling around inside and immediately knew that some of my dishes were broken. True enough, the first box I opened, I saw 2 of my bowls were broken so I didn't even bother to open the box containing the plates because I knew I was going to return the whole set. Turns out the Walmart by my house sells the exact same dinnerware but individually as well. That all went smoothly. They arrived well packaged with none broken in 8 days. First off, I love the dishes. But there are some things to mention. They are NOT yellow. I give up trying to find true yellow dishes, they are hiding out there someplace with true red purses......but I decided to keep them. They go great with anything red. They are more of a light goldish color. Also the bottom ring is not glazed, so if you have a nice wooden table, don't scoot them till they get some wear on them. Also there were a few glazing drips and blops on them, but nothing I can't live with. Wish it had matching coffee mugs, but my turquoise mugs go ok with them. They are nice and heavy and made by Mainstays. The bowls are a very nice size, it doesn't come with the pieces that I never use in a lot of other sets like the saucers and the coffee cups that are always the wrong shape or too small a size to be practical. They are good quality without being too heavy or bulky and I really love the color. The only disappointing thing about this purchase was the fact that our Walmart only had one set on hand even though they always show they have several. I had to order one of the two sets I purchased online and when it arrived there was a scratch on one of the plates. Too much of a pain to try to exchange it when they never have any in stock at the store.
