A Neutral Density filter or ND filter is a "grey" filter, it appears grey and reduces the amount of light reaching the film or sensor, but does not have an effect on color balance.
The purpose of standard photographic neutral density filter is to allow the photographer greater flexibility to change the aperture or exposure time, allowing for more control, particularly in extreme circumstances such as on a very bright day.
This filter can be used to prevent strong overexposure even when using a slow shutter speed. It's perfect for shooting in heavily-lit settings or for extended exposures. For example, when you use a slow shutter speed to capture a bright moving object, such as a waterfall, this filter is your best choice. NOTE: This ZOMEi ND filter is compatible with all 82mm lenses. Please verify your camera's lens thread size before ordering. Your camera's lens thread size will be marked somewhere on the lens barrel or printed underneath your lens cap. This number is always preceded by a "?" (diameter) symbol. For example: ?82 = 82mm lens thread size.
