Sunstone is a type of feldspar. It is red in coloring that occurs from trace amounts of copper in the stones. The darker the red the more copper that is present. It is not a very common stone and is rare throughout the world which leads some to scientifically infuse copper in feldspar to make jewelry grade stones. Sunstone is commonly associated with the Egyptian god Ra the sun god even though it was unlikely used by ancient egyptians. It is most commonly found in the western United States. It is known to have been sought after by native americans for trade and jewelry.

Each Zentron branded rough stone lot comes from all natural crystal and comes with a velvet carrying pouch and a Zentron rock information sheet. Each stone lot will have a slightly different appearance due to the uniqueness of the rock from which it is cut.
