It does have a hint of a rose smell, and is not over powering at all. I love the fact that it has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the redness of my irritated skin, when I have been a bit to aggressive with it, with exfoliators. It comes in a nice amber glass bottle, to keep the light out, and keep the antioxidants going longer. It has gentle lightened up some small dark marks, that came from the sun. This is a company that makes good products so I like this one. The smell isn't too strong, it's just right. I add a small spritz to my mascara when it seems to be drying up, it makes it last so much longer. I add it to my eye shadows, like half a spritz and it makes the shadow stay on a lot longer. Spraying a mist over my skin right when I get out of the shower is my favorite time to use it. I also mist my pillow and sheets before I go to bed.
