Benefits of fluoride also known as Sodium monofluorophosphate According to the American Dental Association, fluoride can strengthen teeth and reduce the risk of cavities. In fact, many municipalities across the U.S. have added fluoride to their water source as a result. I remember when I was a kid I used to get fluoride treatments from my dentist and even used Act Mouthwash which was a super dose of fluoride. Most Americans are exposed to significant amounts of fluoride each day.
What we often don’t hear is that fluoride can discolor teeth, suppress the immune system, contribute to certain cancers, cause gastrointestinal issues like vomiting and diarrhea, and lead to birth defects.
BTW, fluoride is very difficult to remove from water and a Brita doesn’t do the job. If you really want to avoid it, use spring water or shop around for a very special water filter.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate/Sodium Laureth Sulfate /Sodium Coco Sulfate
SLS or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is a foaming agent that works by corrosion.
SLS used in chemical toothpaste can be effective in removing dirt and oil from your gems, forming that formy lather you get from chemical toothpaste.
However, the benefits may be short lived if you experience health complications as a result of using a chemical toothpaste with SLS.
DANGER OF SLS
Even at very low levels, the product may be absorbed through the skin and cause issues with eye health.
A number of studies have indicated that SLS will remain in a person’s system (Brain, Heart & Liver) for up to 4-5 days which means if you are using a non SLS free product at the same volume and same rate of application then Sodium Lauryl Sulfate will remain a constant in your body.
Of course, these traditional products are the easiest ones to buy, and they are cheaper, but when it comes to what is good for you and your family, do you really want to settle for the cheapest, most convenient thing? Of course not!
