I bought two of these -- one was fine, but the other had a partially broken lamp shade. The shade has three spokes that lead from the shade to the central socket connection; one of the spokes was broken off from the shade! Oh well, as long as the other two spokes stay put, I can still use the lamp. They took up a ton of room and the lampshades made them difficult to reposition. So, I purchase two of these little guys. We are still getting used to the streamline / smaller, efficient size, but I'm already much happier with the new ones: the on/off pull cord is easy to use, the extra power outlet is a bonus for our smart phone chargers, and the nickel color looks good in the room. I love how most bed side lamps at hotels have it but I didn't want to spend the money. I did just get two today (black shade) and love the way they look. I have them by a queen size bed and they look really good, not too big, not too small. I'll see how I like these and potentially be purchasing a few more for the other bedrooms in my house. P.S. It's a good size, puts out a good amount of light for her small room, and she loves that it's a pull chain to turn on/off!
