The directions say it takes 10 minutes to assemble. Although it took longer than that, it wasn't much longer. I laid the pieces out as suggested and they assembled relatively easily. The second one had a little bit of "plastic flashing" in the hole the rod was supposed to go through so I had to clean it out a bit with a small knife but it worked fine. I put a three way bulb in each of them and am please with the soft light they give off while watching TV. They were packed and arrived at my door in good shape. There was no damage.
