The JuvaLips replaceable pad simply pushes into the mouthpiece and prevents foreign material from entering into the device and also equally distributes the vacuum pressure across all areas of the lips. The pads generally last for many uses without needing replacement, but lipstick and lip balm can sometimes get onto the felt at which time the mouthpiece can be removed and washed in soap and water and the felt pad replaced. The replacement pack comes with 20 replacement pads.
