Looking at the images online I expected this bear to be soft, with a dense nice fur. Sadly the fur is horrible. It feels scratchy and rough and you can see places where it's barely furry (ie you can see the backing material). It also sheds like crazy, even big chunks... I'd seriously think this was counterfit if I hadn't read other similar reviews. I can only guess they changed manuf. since older reviews sound very positive. I'd honestly return it but my 2 daughters dont' care that they are covered in bear fur, they love him because he's so huge... He loves wrestling with his stuffed animals and this bear looked so big and soft. The bear arrived 2 days before Christmas. Immediately out of the packaging the bear was shedding - fibers and small chunks. With no time to return the item before Christmas morning, we did our best to brush and vacuum off the loose fur - the bear continues to shed. With the apparent poor construction, it appears we'll be looking to return the item and purchase a replacement oversized stuffed animal for our son (likely from another retailer where we can see/touch the item before buying).
