This Brotform-style bread proofing basket - also known as a banneton - is a favorite of artisan bakers for raising their bread dough. The basket coils provide a beautiful shape and decor for a traditional hearth loaf look. This basket is exceptionally well made of the highest quality rattan natural cane. Dust the basket with flour and the risen dough drops easily onto your baking surface. For proofing very wet doughs, as called for with the popular no knead bread recipes, for example, a coating of wheat bran will help prevent sticking. (Our baskets ship with one free basket liner.) To clean the baskets: use a quick hard spray of hot water from the faucet (no soap) then place upside down on the still warm stove top to dry quickly.
