The jaws move when it sings. It's simple to operate and it appears to be sturdy. It's larger than I expected too. The radio works well and the sound is clear. It plugs in, but there's also a battery back up which is nice. It's well worth the money. The alarm has different settings to choose from.. either beep, radio or singing. They all work well but the singing sound may be a little frightening for kids to wake up to. The singing alarm makes moaning sounds before it starts singing. Just listen to it first before you choose that option. A reviewer here said the jaws on his clock didn't move. When I first opened mine the jaws didn't move either, but if you give them a little squeeze where the jaw connects to the face they''ll move like they're supposed to. I think it just gets loose in transport. Was this review helpful?Yes (16)No (0)ReportAWESOME value!!1/18/2014Average rating:5out of5stars, based onreviews1/18/2014by pkayebrettsmommyMy 6-almost-7 year old son (who is pirate-crazy) got this for Christmas and he loves it so much he wants to set the alarm on Saturday and Sunday mornings when he doesn't even have to be up early. :) The eyes glow, the mouth moves, awesome reception on the radio, decent speakers for the price. The music is jolly at first but it does get darker if it runs longer (like on the Disney ride) so keep that in mind if you have sensitive children, but my little swashbuckler loves the "scary" part.) Negatives (minor): The demo button wasn't working when I received it (as another reviewer stated) and demo is important because he likes to be able to make it play whenever the fancy hits him. BUT: I DIDN'T HAVE TO REPLACE THE BATTERIES, just plugged it in, and demo works fine. Also, make sure it is sitting on a flat surface as the mouth might not move if it is off-kilter. (When I tested it, I was holding it, and the mouth wasn't moving. I placed it on a table and it works great.) The robotic mouth movement is a little bit noisy, but he doesn't care. ;) You can still hear the music and sound effects just fine. If you have a pirate fan: This is a must. :) I would have spent more for this. Was this review helpful?Yes (10)No (0)ReportRead all reviews
