And although I usually avoid shopping at Wal-Mart, the price at Walmart was significantly lower than at Amazon (I live in France, so my only option is to have things shipped). Things I love about this set: The vibrant colors and the oversized mugs--they are the perfect winter ones when you want a fat cup of hot chocolate. I also love how deep and large the bowls are. The thing I dislike the most is the fact that the plates are like plates with shallow bowls in the middle. I didn't know that the plates aren't flat. That is my biggest complaint about this set, but for the price and for the style, I'm just going to put up with it. I'd give this set a full 5 stars if the plates were flat. I ordered 2 sets of these dishes and will probably order a third. On a side note, I ordered the matching serving bowls set, and it was a beautiful set and I use it all the time. I was a bit worried because of the reviews I read about the plates not being flat but I ordered them anyways. I had Fiestaware dishes before I bought this set and I love these way more than what I had! Although the plates are not flat, they still hold just as much food as a normally shaped plate does. The mugs are extra large compared to most dish sets. The bowls are also nice and deep which is helpful when you're eating soup, ice cream, and especially cereal. So not only are these dishes gorgeous, they are super functional and are high quality for a reasonable price. I bought 3 sets for a total of 12 of each piece in the set. These are gorgeous and colorful - just my style. That being said, they came packed extremely well - dishes in original box PLUS that box was inside another larger box with lots of Styrofoam peanuts - well no matter how well packed - one dinner plate and one luncheon plate had chips....... I contacted WalMart and wanted a replacement - they were willing BUT they were out of stock online - so I could return both sets or get a small refund.......well what do you do - new dishes with chips OR return the sets and not have dishes at all OR pay a ton more and get them from another website. I took the small refund and guess I won't look at the chips - LOL! I have contacted Wal-mart about replacements, but they have been "Out of stock" for weeks now, and I have been unable to resolve this situation. They advised me to keep checking online to see if they come back in stock, which I have done, but have not found
