The kit comes in a large plastic storage container 17x12 inches for great organization. The kit also includes all the parts to construct many different vehicles. There are four assemble books and a CD teachers lesson plan guide, with step by step lesson plans all ready for use. This kit would be great for a home school program or even a public school science lab. The items in the kit look to be of good quality for long lasting durability and use. The lesson plans have great team working activities that can be done with many children at once. My boys, age 11 gave the difficulty rating of a 7 on a scale of 1-10. The kit is suggested for grades 5th-7th. They were able to follow the well written instructions to create their vehicle masterpieces. They then proceeded to use their vehicles for experiments in motion, energy and forces. My boys were having so much fun that they forgot that they were actually learning science. The assembly of the vehicles can be altered and allows for your child to use their imagination. What a great kit to use for teaching science. This toy/learning kit is great for home or school use and your children will play for hours while at the same time learning. The set comes with a storage box with snap-on lid which is a great storage addition. Out of the box you will get the plastic components divided in cello bags. I would have preferred to find the pieces divided either by color or shape like in other K’nex sets but these came all mixed up so I divided the pieces by color in separate resealable bags. In the box there are 4 building instructions booklets and a teacher’s guidebook in CD form. This particular set focuses on concepts related to forces, energy, and motion and offers 11 different vehicles to build, up to four at the time. A great thing if your child wants to share the experience with other kids! The quality of the plastic pieces (and of the box) is very good and it’s a good thing that the set is made in the USA. The age start for this set is 10 so my son who is 6 needed some help to finish the subjects. We built a pull-back car and once it was completed he had fun playing with it and because he is into building with blocks, he enjoyed the building process, too.
