To all of you who are considering buying this game and its addon; Sim city Societies is different and not in a bad way. EA's main goal was to give the gamer more customization of their cities with less bdget restraints and building limitations. This ultyimately produced a fun city simulation where you can literally make your city suite your preferences wether it be a capitolist city or a spiritual city, you can virtualy do anything to your city. However the one draw back is space...... You see when i played simcity 4 there was a choice in size of map and this was very helpfull because not only could you link roads to other cities and towns in the region but you could also create huge cities that covered lots of space. On this though, there is only one sized map and its not the biggest size either. As a result, you end up having to knock down your small suburbs and replace then with large apartments or skyscrapers.

This then brings me to another issue: categories. This issue was realised when players would build cities that had no fire stations and police departments or even hospitals (i recently built a city and it took me ages to unlock the hospital despite having the money and the population bacuse it was all about the knowledge production ect. that you need to be producing a certain amount of to unlock the needed buildings). This was a bad obstacle on the creators side not only because of the unlocking requirements of public service buildings but also where they are in the building menu as they are in the entertainment section along side science telescope facilities, law offices and courthouses (even prisons).All those buildings really need to be in their own category like in simcity 4 whcih had categorised building based on their use in the city like utilities and residential,commercial and industrial. However i must say i was really impressed by the power system (not only was it in its own category, it was also fil;led with many diferent methods of power sources from nuclear power to solar power and even wind turbines or for the more green people a biomass powerplant. The camera is alos really good as you can zoom right into the town itself to select citizens to see what they think of ur city.

The addon was also just as good because theri is even more customization and i personally love it i mean the best thing about simcity societies is te variation i location because you can choose the amount of vegetation water altitude and steepness of hills not to environment ike desert or woodland or even alpine.

All in all i think this game has its drawbacks like any other game but for anyone who wants to use a more realistic simulation of a city use simcity 4 but if you want to make fun querky towns or interesting cities that are based on your views and unlimited customization, then get this game! you'll love it.
