None came chipped or damaged and shipping was fast! I previously bought Noritake Colorwave dinnerware and they were very expensive, chipped and left marks. These better homes and gardens dishes are so much nicer and inexpensive compared to other dish sets out there. I love these so much that i went and bought the matching fruit platter and bowl/platter combo. Just received all items and I'm so in love! Even w/ great sale @ Macy's w/ additional % off w/ their card, this square white 16 piece dinner set ended up being $75 less (avg. less than $10/place setting)! AND I liked the SQUARE bottom cups with this set better than the regular round ones included in the Macy's set (felt it matches better)! Of course, you need to check for minor flaws of each piece, but I had to do that with Macy's pieces as well. But both were of equal size AND weight (in fact, this BHG set's bowls were slightly larger!). I like the heavier weight of the square pieces (interestingly, Martha Stewart's at Macy's were very light and seemed too thin, as well as being more of an off-white/bone color & of course 3x the cost!). Hubby wanted to replace our everyday wear (Dansk- which I still love, but with this white, can still incorporate all the great serving pieces I have!) that we have had since wedding almost 17 years ago! But I am absolutely in love with this set! It is rich and elegant looking, if you overlook some very minor flaws which, of my two sets, were very, very few. Nothing was broken and I commend the excellent packaging from Walmart! As I look at the salad plates stacked in my closet, I can see they are not perfectly shaped, but for what I paid, I never expected to be so impressed. In fact, I just ordered a third set but as a spare, for the time that one will chip or break, and it does happen! I also ordered the coupe square bowls, two sets of 6 each, which is definitely more for our Sunday pastas. The cereal bowls that came with the set are probably fine for the most part, but
