Since newborn is unable to control their hand movement, they tend to scratch their delicate face with their sharp nails. Therefore, mittens is a must for newborns. How many mittens and booties set does a newborn need in a day? According to my personal experience, I usually need about 3 to 4 sets a day, as the baby will suck the mitten. And you need another 3 to 4 sets for the next day while the other 3 are being washed. I usually have 1 dozen of mittens and booties set in my baby's drawer.

Note: Please kindly take note that Libby Mittens and Booties is for newborn up until 1 month old. Beyond 1 month old, this mittens and booties will be too tight for them. Baby above 1 month old can actually do without mittens anymore. Yes, they will scratch their face. But they will learn very fast not to scratch themselves. For me, I start to trim my babies nails after they are 1 month old. For all my babies, it took them about 2 days before they learn how to not scratch their own face :)

You might be thinking of getting just a bigger size mittens for your newborn so that you don't have to buy twice. But, that might not be the best idea as newborns wrists are really really tiny.
