This simple, beautiful, and functional pitcher is part of an entire tableware collection designed by Sophie Conran, an English food writer with her own gourmet pie company. Conran infuses her namesake tableware with a flowing organic nature and tactile expression, as evidenced by the ridges and dipping rims that recall handcrafted pottery. Made of porcelain expressly for Portmeirion, the collection comes in white with select pieces available in cool blue celadon and a creamy biscuit color.

Holding three cups, this charming pitcher is the middle of three sizes. Safe for use in a microwave or conventional oven, the durable yet lightweight pitcher is ideal for warming milk, syrup, or savory sauces for fish and poultry dishes. Fill with juice or iced tea, and the pitcher serves drinks with breakfast or lunch; it can even be placed in the freezer to chill its contents. After use, the pitcher cleans up without fuss in the dishwasher. The straight, upright form blended with a curving rim and handle also make this a lovely vase for displaying a bouquet of flowers on a windowsill or end table. A personable gift, the pitcher complements a full range of dinnerware, bakeware, and serving ware. --Ann Bieri
