I picked it up today and looked at it while at the store. It's very short. VERY SMALL. MUCH smaller than expected. For $30+ (with tax), I didn't think it was worth that expense! I took it with me (still in the box) to the lamp aisle in the store, found something just as good on the shelf, bigger and the shade was $5.00 and a base was $6.00. I returned the original lamp to customer service for a full $30+ refund then went and paid for my even newer lamp for 1/3 the price. The newest lamp is shiny silver. The old short lamp appeared to be ceramic. It was pretty. ONly complaint is that the shade is not as pictured--it's not nearly as wide at the bottom as what's pictured.
