Our Premium Thunderbird Mexican Yoga blankets are hand woven and made of soft materials and are easily washable. These beautiful heavyweight blankets come in many colors. Please understand that these blankets are made in different villages throughout Mexico so there may be some slight variations in the pattern from the picture shown. Mexican blankets are used frequently in Iyengar and restorative yoga practices. They can be used folded under sitting poses to cushion bones and joints, underneath you in repose positions to insulate from cold flooring, rolled or folded to provide support in poses, or just as a cover to warm you in Savasana. The Thunderbird (Golindrina) represents a bird of power and strength in certain North American indigenous cultures. Its name comes from the belief that its wings cause thunder and stir the wind. Our Premium Thunderbird Blankets are made with a tight weave, are larger, thicker and warmer than our Classic Blankets offering more cushioning and insulation. As mentioned previously, the blankets may vary from what is pictured. Some of the variations could be that some blankets have solid-colored thunderbirds, while others have multi-colored birds. Some blankets may have different colored thunderbirds, while others have the same colored bird throughout. Shades of color can also vary from blanket to blanket. These blankets are handmade in different villages of Mexico and so each shipment we receive can be different.
