Product Description

The Cross of Lothair is a celebrated jewelled cross dating from around 1000 AD and likely made in the Cologne region of Germany. It's a beautiful example of medieval goldsmith's work and a monument to period imperial ideology forming part of the Aachen cathedral treasury which includes many masterpieces of sacral Ottonian art. Although difficult to reproduce in miniature, our 100% handmade version is fashioned into a trinket box to reflect the beauty of the cross.
