What size door thickness does your Kit accommodate? Our Barn Door Kit accommodate doors from 1.25” thick all the way to 2 inches thick but for doors larger than 1.75” thick a header board is recommended to off-set the door thickness. You can find more details about header board installation in our manual.
How much gap will there be between the wall and the door? That depends on the thickness of your barn door. Our standard track sticks out just about 2” from the wall. If your barn door is 1.75” thick, then you would have about a .25” gap.
How much bigger does the door need to be compared to the opening? The barn door should be at least 2” bigger and as much as 12” bigger than the opening depending on how much opening you need, but that is subjective to your taste and home''s decor.
