Stream with Apple Airplay: Now you can switch from listening to your favourite song on your iPhone or iPad to a true Bang & Olufsen sound experience – without missing a beat or getting up from your chair. The new BeoPlay A8 streams your tunes with Apple AirPlay. When you walk into the room with your iPhone or iPad, BeoPlay A8 recognises your device and asks if you really wouldn’t prefer listening to your music through its balanced set of dynamic two-way speakers and formidable Class D amplifiers.
Great sound performance: BeoPlay A8 integrates 2 x two-way systems, each with a ¾” treble unit, a 5” custom-made midrange/bass unit, a fully integrated 70 watt Class D amplifier for the bass and midrange and a 35 watt amplifier for the treble unit. To get the best sound performance no matter where you place the speaker, set the room adaptation switch and it will sound perfect.
Distinctive design: BeoPlay A8 has a distinctive design with a central aluminium-covered bridge where the dock of the iPhone/iPod/iPad is placed. Two circular speakers are placed at each end and they are outlined by aluminium rings, giving a distinct Bang & Olufsen look and feel. The speakers are two cone shapes pointing backwards, so the depth of the product cannot be seen from the front.
It can be networked by connecting the Apple AirPort Express to the line-in connection. You now have wireless streaming of music on one or more BeoPlay A8s around the house. BeoPlay A8 is easily moved around the house - besides placing it on a shelving system or discretely in a corner, BeoPlay A8 comes with a wall bracket that allows you to hang it directly on the wall.
Adapting the sound mode to BeoPlay A8’s location in the room further enhances the listening experience. A simple switch lets users choose between wall, corner or freestanding positions.
On the wall – always on display: Use the smart wall bracket and hang BeoPlay A8 on the wall. Select the ‘wall’ setting and the sound performance will be optimized to this position.
In the corner and still centred: Getting great sound in a corner can be difficult since walls have a tendency to “bounce the sound”. But the position switch in BeoPlay A8 will help you. Set it to 'corner' and the sound performance remains unchanged - namely perfect.
Free standing - make it stand out: Use the 'free' position, when BeoPlay A8 is not close to any walls that may play along, when you turn up the volume.
Play it safe: With Adaptive Bass Linearisation you can feel safe. At extreme peeks in the music, BeoPlay A8 will automatically turn down the bass and make sure you always get a great musical experience.
