This is a powerfully adsorptive activated charcoal. With a Phenazone Adsorption of 40 - 50: a typical Iodine number of 1500, and a BET Surface Area of 1550 - 1600 m2/gm, DETOX 1600 USP not only goes to work within seconds, but quickly adsorbs large amounts of toxins in the GI tract. DETOX 1600 USP is made from virgin coconut charcoal. It is steam activated using water vapour at high temperature (up to 1000°C) to produce a very homogeneous micro-porosity (and some meso-porosity) that results in a consistent rate of adsorption for thousands of different natural and man-made poisons. DETOX 1600 USP has been processed to meet the purification standards required for medical use and complies with both the US Pharmacopeia (USP 34) and the European Pharmacopeia (EP 7th Edition). DETOX 1600 USP is a very light, fine powder free from any grittiness.
