The debut album by Groove Armada was recorded over the summer of 1997 in a secluded cottage in North Yorkshire. They worked on dancefloor material during the sun-filled days and the more laid back grooves around the open fire at night…the unique setting no doubt contributed to the albums deeply atmospheric and unique sound. The British press raved and the previous singles leading up to the debut were received equally well. Northern Star features ''At the River'' which went on to be one of their best-known tracks.
