This MEGA 2560 ADK is an ENHANCED VERSION. On board have an additional function for switch the power for microcontroller ATmega2560 and I/O for 5V and 3.3V. This more convenient for developing projects for 5V or 3.3V.
The reset button can be found in a more available place. Not covered by shield.
Installed large crystals (resonators), more reliable and stable compared to small ceramic resonators.
