On opening the box that the watch came in, both my husband and I had mixed feelings. The watch is thin and light weight compared to his other watches which are typically of the more expensive chronograph divers type. This one is light, thin and elegant if slightly awkward looking in its simplicity, especially the strap. It’s made of fairly thin nylon that is fed around the back of the watch which is a little odd and when put it on the collar that holds the end of the strap in place is fixed to the side and visible from the front which makes it look a little awkward because it sticks out on one side. The opposite side has a gold band/clip to counter. Initially, this unusual asymmetry seems odd. The face is quite large and not fussy, almost plain making the time easy to read but the date is about 50% smaller than normal and very hard to read in anything but the best light.

The nylon strap has some texture which adds a little grip and stays in place instead of sliding around his wrist while still being comfortable. It conforms to his wrist nicely.

The face is flat with a parchment-white backdrop which almost has a pearlescent look to it but I think it’s just a slight sheen. The glass is flat, simple and elegant with no distortion. The hands and markings are of rose gold with small diamond type gems at the base of four main quadrant hour markers. The markings between the hours are also easy to distinguish.
