Her one remaining option is to visit a student named Paul who is a younger, desperate to please, admirer. Its obvious he still loves her, but its embarrassing which brings home to Meena the terrible truth that she cannot force herself to love him. She will have to go through with the abortion. Yet at her darkest moment, a new opportunity presents itself: Pauls housemate, Dan. The attraction is reciprocal and he begins to woo her. Secretly she starts to believe she can prevent the abortion. However, the fear of his rejection is too much for her to contemplate, so she devises a plan to surprise him and pretend the baby she already carries is his. Unfortunately for Meena, it doesnt take Paul long to figure out her scheme and then her pleas for his co-operation lead him toward a dilemma all of his own.
