- Use and Care Instructions
for Your Footbalance Insoles

Instructions for Use

Start wearing your new insoles gradually

Footbalance insoles enhance foot muscle function. During the first weeks of use you may experience mild discomfort as your muscles adapt. If necessary, only wear the insoles for a few hours a day at first, gradually increasing the time worn each day. After one week, start wearing the insoles as much as possible throughout the day, every day.

Regularly wearing your insoles is better for your body

By properly supporting your foot Footbalance insoles help align your entire body, so you get the most benefit when you wear them consistently. To wear your insoles daily simply transfer them between your shoes or get multiple pairs.  Either way, remember to always first remove the pre-existing factory footbed before inserting your Footbalance insoles.

Increase convenience with a 'spare' pair or different insoles for different types of footwear

For greater convenience, we recommend getting at least two pairs of Footbalance insoles: a pair for everyday use and a pair for sports. You won't have to worry about getting your everyday insoles sweaty during exercise, and you can let each pair of insoles 'take a day off' and dry out if needed. This helps them last longer.

Having multiple pairs of insoles also helps you ensure that you have the best fitting insole for different activities and types of footwear. For example you may want a more cushioned model for running shoes, a super thin model for work shoes, and a narrower, stiffer model for ski boots or cycling cleats.

How Do I Clean My Insoles?

Is it time to wash those dirty insoles of yours but you aren’t sure how? Cleaning and maintaining insoles is actually a very simple task. For best results, wash your insoles with lukewarm water and a mild detergent or soap. Avoid silicone-based cleaning products that could result in damage to your insoles. For hard to remove stains, you can spot-remove by carefully scrubbing with a soft bristle toothbrush or brush. Be sure to rinse insoles well afterwards to remove excess water and dirt. Then, allow your insoles to air dry for 24 hours. Do NOT machine wash or machine dry.

Step 1

Remove the insoles from the shoes.

Step 2

Fill a bowl with a mixture of one part hot water to two parts white vinegar. Soak the insoles in the solution for three hours.

Step 3

Boil 4 cups of water in a pot on the stove after the insoles have finished soaking. When the water reaches a boil, remove the pot from the stove.

Step 4

Add 1/8 cup of salt, 1/2 cup of baking soda and 20 drops of rosemary or tea tree essential oil to the boiling water.

Step 5

Remove the insoles from the vinegar solution and put them in the pot. If the insoles float to the surface of the water, hold them down with something heavy, such as a glass. Allow the insoles to soak for an hour.

Step 6

Take the insoles out of the water and allow them to air dry.
