Our hair is more complex than it seems and statistics have shown that as many as 45% of all women experience hair loss and thinning at certain stages in life. The most common causes includes hormonal changes, diet deficiency or iron and protein, stress, pollution, use of unsuitable hair products, etc.

Losing about 50 hair strands daily is part of the regular functioning of our scalp and the life cycle of our hair. Beyond that, hair loss is considered excessive. Phyto Thinning/Hair Loss Programme - Review 2

I mentioned in a previous hair post how I going through hair thinning/loss a lot. I might have long locks, but do not be fooled :) Hair loss is a big issue for me and can make me feel down any second. I will do anything and buy anything that can do the hair trick!

Six months ago while browsing in Selfridges, I got attracted to the hair products aisle and uncontrollably searching for a packaging that mentioned hair thinning and loss. I came across a brand called Phyto. Phyto is a hair range created by plants and to cater for specific target areas, for example, damaged hair and hair loss. With over forty years in the business and a successful reputation, I gave in...immediately.


I was advised, obviously, to get a higher amount of progress I must use only Phyto products and all the products necessary. The products I was sggested was: Phytocyane Densifying Treatment Shampoo, PhytoBaume Express Conditioner, Phytolium 4 Chronic Thinning Hair Treatment, PhytoPhanere Dietary Supplement and PhytoVolume Actif Volumizing Spray.


PhytoCyane Densifying Treatment Shampoo
The shampoo comes in a bottle and the content is very liquid based. It is practically water. In my first attempts, I never realised and tipped away the bottle finding my hands fulls of this water based shampoo. But after a few trial and errors, I have concluded that less is more! You do get carried away because of the consistency, but it lathers up so much that all my head is covered in bubbles! I used a tablespoon size, but anyone with shorter hair will consider it too much for them. The shampoo clears the scalp and does not feel dry or harsh. The shampoo has to be my favourite from all the items. When I first used the shampoo I was huffing and puffing at the consistency. BUT this bottle alone lasted me....five and a half months!! I washed my hair twice a week or even thrice as it was in the summer and during Egypt. My hair was felt moisturised, smooth and fuller. My locks looked so much healthier and stronger! The bottle is only 200ml and retails at £11.50.

PhytoBaume Express Conditioner
A disappointing product to be very frank. After admiring the shampoo endlessly, the conditioner turned out to be opposite. The conditioner is not as moisturising as I thought. The tube lasted me approxiametly three weeks, of course my hair is very long, but three weeks?! I suppose this will work well on short hair and hair that does not require a lot of moisture. The tube is 150ml and retails at £14.50.



PhtyoVolume Actif Volumizer Spray
Ah-MAZING! My favourite from the whole lot, partially as the result is seen after a blink. I sprayed it all over my roots on my scalp and blowdried my hair to give them an bouncy lift. It is important to blowdry your hair after or your hair dries up with that "sticky mousse" feel. The bounce and the illusion of the perfect scalp will stay with you until your next wash. Love this! Not sure how my hair will cope without this! Retails at £15.50 for 125ml.



PhytoLium 4 Chronic Hair Treatment
So do these really work? That's the question I imagine most of you craving to know. Most importantly you have to remember to use them everytime you wash your hair - taking a break will delay the treatment and will show less positive results. To avoid making your hair greasy and flat, blowdry it immediately. By the time I finished the entire box, I did notice many baby hair around my scalp! Quite shocking, honestly I did not think this will work at all. It proved me wrong, but to ensure you get the maximum and quick results I'll say use it continuously. For £45.50, you receive 12 capsules.


Phyologie Phytophanere Capsules
Before I purchased these, it is a must to research about them. I rarely found a good review based on them, because they contained hydrogenated acid Yes, it is unhealthy, but after a lot of research, we are not taking a huge quantity, therefore it is not health hazardous! The capsules are meant to be only for a course of three months and a break is required after to get your body in balance. I noticed my hair to be much stronger by the second week and less fall outs. Each bottle contains 60 capsules, to be taken twice a day. Retails at £33.

So what do I think of Phyto? I am very impressed with this Phyto range. For now, I am going to take a break from this range and see what else the market offers in regards to hair loss/thinning recovery. If not, I am more than happy to get back on Phyto anytime. A complete score!
