Sodium Cocoyl Alaninate is amino acid based mild surfactant made from L-Alanine and coconut fatty acid. The amino acid L-Alanine comprises of 31%  of silk protein, making it both a functional and biocompatible surfactatant in many rinsed off formulation. 

It is best functions at neutral pH. They produce rich and creamy foam even in formulations with oils, including silicones, and it imparts a moisturising feel to you skin/hair

It is commonly use in facial cleanser, baby shampoo and hair shampoo.
