Data Usage



 

Unlimited data usage in Australia. A maximum download speed of 3G, but the actual download speed may be affected by different factors. Tethering is supported.

Once your data usage reaches 1.8GB, the data access speed will be reduce and it wll stop supporting tethering and peer-to-peer services. Please refer to China Unicom (Hong Kong) Operations Limited Fair Usage Policy for details.

Once insert into the mobile device,the SIM card will be activated. You can activate the SIM in Australia only.

The SIM card is valid for 10 days upon activation.

For Internet settings, please refer to the userguide in packaging.

For checking data usage and validity period, please log in http://service.hk.chinaunicom.com and fill in your 11-digit SIM card number and PUK.

SIM ACTIVATION

Simply connect to the internet to activate the SIM.

Please search for the network "Optus" when using in Australia.


Please follow the steps below to enable mobile data (also available in userguide inside packaging)

Step 1: Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
 
Step 2: Create New APN > input '3gnet' in Name & APN column > Save
   
Step 3: Go back > Select '3gnet'
 
Step 4: Go back > Switch on Data Roaming
 
iPhone/iPad
 
Step 1: Settings >  General > Network > Cellular Data Network
 
Step 2: Input '3gnet' in APN column under Cellular Data
 
Step 3: Go back > Switch on Data Roaming

The following Terms and Conditions apply to the Australia 10 Days Data SIM of China Unicom (Hong Kong) Operations Limited ("CUHK”):

1. The SIM card provides mobile data service in Australia and Hong Kong; Unlimited data usage in Australia (Once your data usage in Australia reaches "Fair Usage level” 1.8GB, the upload/download speed would be restricted to 128KB/s, and tethering and Peer-to-Peer services would not be available. Please refer to Fair Usage Policy of China Unicom (Hong Kong) Operations Limited for details.)

2. Insert the SIM card into your handset and it is ready to be used. You can activate the SIM card in Australia.

3. The SIM card is valid for 10 days from the date of activation.

4. This SIM card is non-rechargeable. Any unused data will be forfeited.

5. Please keep the outer part of your SIM card for inquiries.

6. The SIM card provides 3G network service. The actual connection speed maybe affected by different factors such as the relative position between you and the transmitting station, server’s capacity, Internet traffic conditions, number of users, maximum network supporting speed of device, hardware, software and other factors.
