Elements not required in large quantities, but essential to the proper functioning of all life forms are often referred to as “trace” elements. Certain trace elements including calcium, iron, magnesium, sodium, manganese and others are essential to nitrification in freshwater aquariums. The lack of these essential elements can stall nitrification resulting in elevated ammonia and nitrite levels that are harmful to fish and invertebrates. The use of reverse osmosis and /or deionization strip these elements away and certain city water sources are lacking certain elements as well. FRITZZYME® trace is a specially formulated solution of trace elements, minerals and electrolytes found to be essential for the growth and function of healthy nitrifying bacteria and heterotrophic bacteria backed by years of experience in fritz’s biological research and manufacturing processes. ® trace has been developed to be used with RO/DI water but is can be used in tap water lacking some or all of these essential trace elements ensuring healthy biological growth and function. ® trace is beneficial to not only ® branded biological products, but all commercial biological products.
