Nitozol (Ketoconazole 2%) shampoo is used to control dandruff. Use of this Shampoo helps to relieve the flaking, scaling and itching associated with dandruff. Nitozol is an azole antifungal that works by preventing the growth of fungus. Dandruff is believed to be caused by fungus  Malassezia globosa.

When ketoconazole is used as a shampoo it’s not absorbed into the bloodstream, and so the antifungal effects are localized to the scalp

Directions

1. Moisten hair and scalp thoroughly with water.
2. Apply sufficient shampoo to produce enough lather to wash the scalp and hair and gently massage it over the entire scalp area for approximately
1 minute. 
3. Rinse the hair thoroughly with warm water. 
4. Repeat, leaving the shampoo on the scalp for an additional 3 minutes.
5. After the second thorough rinse, dry the hair with a towel

Shampoo twice a week for four weeks with at least three days between each shampooing and then intermittenly as needed to maintain control.
