Demonstrate the principle of jet propulsion with this Hero's Engine flask. The apparatus consists of a borosilicate glass flask with a rubber stopper and two tubes with tangentially oriented jets. A collar is provided around the flask to hang it above a heating source (Bunsen burner, alcohol lamp or a candle.) When water boils inside the flask, stem escapes the jets and the flask spins.
