It has a heavy, stable base and looks exactly like what I needed. Trouble out of the box, the top of the lampshade will not stay on, keeps falling off. This is where the on/off switch is. It is put on with some sort of glue instead of screwing on. The special bulb did come with it, BUT it will not fit the socket of this lamp. There is something terribly wrong with the bulb socket of this lamp. I tried other regular bulbs, they will not fit either. The special bulb will fit my other lamps perfectly. I put all the pieces in a bag to took it back to Walmart.
