DIFFERENCES OF VARIOUS EAR PADS MATERIAL
01) PU LEATHER
The PU leather is very common now. It used to only installed in premium headphones. The PU leather has a well balance in terms of price, comfortability, and durability. The price has also lowered very much over the years and it provides a very cover for the headphones and can retain sound signature well. It also provide a strong bass for the headphones. However, the PU material will disintegrate in about 1 to 2 years after constant in contact with the sweat from our ears.
You can prolong the life of the PU leather by cleaning the earpads with wet tissue to remove the salt from our sweat.
02) FROG LEATHER
The Frog leather is the most comfortable but the least durable among all types. It is very soft for the ears. The irregular foldings on the surface of the ear pads also provide air pockets that allows the sweat from the ears to evaporate faster. Therefore, the frog leather can worn for a longer period of time comapred to all type. Similarly, the frog leather will also disintegrate after constant contact with the sweat from our ears.
You can prolong the life of the frog leather by cleaning the earpads with wet tissue to remove the salt from our sweat.
03) VELVET
The Velvet material is basically indestructable. It can last very long for more than 4 to 5 years. It provides comfort for the ears as they are very soft. It is resistant to sweat from the ears. It basically need no maintenance at all. However, it is the most expensive of all types.
04) FOAM
Foam material is a very basic and economic material. It's basic function is to provide a cover for the ear cups and that's all. It does not provide any sound insulation or bass signature from the headphones. However, it will last very long compared to the Frog or PU Leather. It is the cheapest ear pads of all types.
