It is safe to say that the queen would have fit because this quilt is oversized anyways. I also went ahead and ordered the king size because a review said it came with standard shams. Mine came with King sized shams. The quilt is beautiful, but it is a little muted/lighter in color than the pictures. It is made well. The pieces are quilted together and there is quilting ontop of that for a better hold. It's a little stiff when you first get it, but once it's out of the package and washed or just layed on a while it will soften up. I have a queen size high profile bed so bought the king size because I like a long draped spread that no queen size spread gives me. It hangs about 4" from the floor on both side - perfect for my tastes! It is extremely well made, with a close quilting technique that should hold up very well in the washer for many washings. No loose thread anywhere! Back is as beautiful as the front - and the colors are amazing! Bright and beautiful prints that will allow many color accents to be added and changed as desired.Exceptionally well made and beautiful - I simply love it!! The only negative comment I have is that they do not sell separate pillow shams. The king size comes with king sized shams and they are too long for a queen bed. I would like to be able to purchase standard shams that would fit the bed.
