ASICS Amplica | First look

New to the ASICS lineup, the ASICS Amplica is an essentials-only performance trainer that gives the runner exactly what they need for daily miles and uptempo running with no extra frills. At a price point that’s hard to beat, we expect the Amplica to hit the ground running.

The midsole of the Amplica is constructed with ASICS’ new AmpliFoam EVA compound, which should provide a responsive ride for faster paces on the roads. The outsole has targeted rubber placements for a good grip on the roads, as well as flex grooves for an adaptive underfoot experience.

The upper is constructed without seams to minimize irritation, and the breathable mesh fabrication will allow for ample ventilation. An unobtrusive overlay design should give this shoe a snug hold without compromising comfort.

History of ASICS 

In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan.  
He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body."  

Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness.  

Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.
