The insoles have built in 3.7V re-chargeable Lithium-ion batteries, which are controlled by a small handheld remote. The remote is similar to a vehicle key fob, and can be easily kept in a pocket. The heating elements run from the ball of the foot out to the tips of the toes. There are three heat settings allowing easy customization to each individuals comfort levels.
