When you arrive home, you assume the food in your refrigerator or freezer is fine but how do you really know? the Taylor safety zone fridge and freezer thermometer/timer is a unique combination of a thermometer and a timer tracks refrigerator and freezer temperatures to constantly monitor safe storage zones and Records the time that foods may have been stored at unsafe temperatures due to appliance failure or power outages. Once the refrigerator or freezer has entered an unsafe temperature zone, a timer kicks in and counts the amount of time that the appliance has been out of the safe zone. You can then make the decision yourself if your food has been exposed to unsafe temperatures, for how long and if it needs to be discarded. Color coded icons on the display are a quick reference if the appliance has been either in or out of the safe temperature range. A Min/max feature is also added so you can see what the max or Min temperature reached. The switch on the back is adjusted to either refrigerator or freezer use so the appropriate safety zones are accurate. Safe zone temperatures are: refrigerator: between 32F and 40F, and timer activates at 45F freezer: between -10F and 0F, and the timer activates at 5F a versatile bracket adjusts and moves so the thermometer can hang from the suction cup, the magnet or use the stand on its own.
