The Infant Insert must be used in combination with your Pognae Baby Carrier for babies under 4 to 6 months of age. The Infant Insert is specifically designed to allow your newborn child to be sitting in the proper position while being carried in the Pognae Baby Carrier. The flexible flaps at the top of the Infant Insert provides the proper head support for your developing infant. Each Infant Insert also comes with an Infant Insert Block that allows your baby to sit at the proper height while being carried in the carrier. The Infant Insert along with the Infant Insert block can be easily placed and adjusted in your Pognae Baby Carrier.

KEY FEATURES:

Baby Carrier Safety

Before using your Pognae Baby Carrier, make sure to check if all buckles, snaps, straps and adjustments are secure and undamaged.

When putting on your baby carrier with your baby the first few times, we recommend that you have someone assist you until you get more comfortable with the process. Also, we recommend you stand or sit on a soft surface (bed or sofa) when putting on the baby carrier with your baby the first few times. Using a mirror can help you the first few times you do it yourself, especially when putting on your baby carrier with your baby in the back position.

Never unbuckle the waist belt while your baby is in the carrier. Never wear the baby carrier with the chest strap unbuckled.

Use common sense when babywearing! Never perform any task that could put your baby at risk when wearing your Pognae Baby Carrier with your baby. The carrier should not be used while jogging, running, climbing, biking, or participating in other sporting or strenuous activities. You are responsible for the safety of your baby. When bending, please bend at the knees and not at the waist. Never drink hot beverages or eat hot foods when carrying your baby in the baby carrier.

Make sure that your baby has enough breathing room when strapped in the baby carrier. You are responsible for making sure your baby has enough breathing room at all times. There should be at least 2 inches of clearance below your baby's chin.

What is the recommended age range for the Infant Insert and Infant Insert Block?

The Infant Insert and Infant Insert Block were designed to be used with the Pognae Baby Carrier for babies from newborn to 4 to 6 months of age and weighing between 7lbs and 12lbs. You should not use the Pognae Baby Carrier and Infant Insert for babies under 7lbs.

The Infant Insert provides the proper head support for your baby during the first months of your baby's development. When your baby is capable of supporting his/her own head for extended periods of time, then you may use the Pognae Baby Carrier without the Infant Insert. Since babies grow and develop at different rates, you must monitor your baby's development to decide whether he/she is able to sit in the Pognae Baby Carrier without the Infant Insert.

Use the Infant Insert Block with your Infant Insert for babies from newborn to 4 to 6 months of age to make sure that your baby is sitting at the right height in the Pognae Baby Carrier. The Infant Insert Block can be used separately from the Infant Insert if your baby no longer needs the head and neck support, but still does not sit at the right height in the carrier. Your baby should sit high enough in the carrier so that he/she has adequate breathing room; there should be at least two inches of breathing room underneath your baby's chin.
