The husband-wife founders of WOODY FAMILY CAFÉ-  Sam & Jenny Png open its doors on 19^th September 2009 with a cozy family feel; with patrons and the owners interacting with warmth and freely. Jenny says that her customers’ input weight heavily on her decisions as to what food to put into her menu.

Co-founder Chef Jenny, a self professed ‘True Blue Peranakan’ of the 3rd generation, picked up her skills from her late mother. Her experimentation with food has led to many of its signature Fusion dishes such as the Mango Salad, Pork Knuckles Garam Assam, Guinness Battered Dunkel Fish & Chips, Lamb Shank Rendang, Chinchalok Omelette as well as Buah Keluak Omelette and many more.  

Not forgetting those who have a game for Western cuisine, Jenny has scooped up several items like Spaghetti, Pizza, Beer Battered Fish & Chips, Home cooked Onion rings, Spring chicken and so on.

Being a Family Café, its owners has put in place Kid’s Menu and also for those who loves to drink with a variety of Beer selection and KRONENBOURG 1664 BLANC on the TAP.

Jenny also creates special cocktails to name a few - Bandung Rock, Blue Ocean, Frozen Blue Monkey, Liquid rubies and many more. Some, like Shah’s Concord, are inspired by her customers and named the drinks after them!

Being a handyman, Sam designed the whole decor of Woody Family Cafe; he drew inspiration from various pubs & cafes in Thailand, Philippines & Bali. He wanted to recreate the atmosphere found in those countries back here and into a cozy ambience for dining and chilling out; judging from the feedback he’s received, he has been successful and well-received from majority of its customers.

Lovers of spicy food will find a haven hidden in the little corner of Sembawang estate and this little café has been named as THE HIDDEN JEWEL OF SEMBAWANG.
