Calendula Therapy soothes and promotes the healing of skin irritations caused by eczema, allergy rashes, cuts, scrapes, sunburn, insect bites and burns. It is 100% natural and is safe for all ages. Artisan Remedy’s Calendula Therapy balm is borne out of a father’s love for his young daughters. His daughters had extremely sensitive skins that were prone to eczema outbreaks, typically triggered after consuming food they were allergic to, by contact with dust or after being bitten by insects. He searched for a remedy that would soothe and heal his daughters’ sensitive skin. Unfortunately, he was never satisfied with what were available in the market. The “solution” available is either too strong for sensitive skin, or it just did not work. Many times, it also had too many chemicals which we would not want to apply to our skin.
In the end, the father took matters into his own hands and crafted a remedy that is just right for everyone’s use. It is non-steroidal, all-natural and uses ingredients that have been passed down through many generations of human civilisation and proven to be effective and safe.
Beeswax
Cera alba, commonly known as beeswax, is one of nature’s greatest gifts for its wonderful healing properties. It has strong anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is rich in vitamins, containing plenty of vitamin A that is important in the healthy development of skin cells. It can also act as a barrier to protect the skin from environmental damages. Unlike petroleum based skincare products, it is non pore-clogging and is able to attract and lock in moisture on dry skin. Some studies have shown that beeswax can be a wonderful treatment for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
Note: At Artisan Remedy, we only use high grade beeswax that has its physical impurities removed, with no further chemical treatment. This helps to preserve its natural healing properties in its purest form possible.
Calendula
Calendula is an active ingredient that we use in our healing balm. It is traditionally used as culinary and medicinal herbs by our ancestors. Its flowers are also considered sacred and used in rites and rituals by some religions. Medicinally, ancient cultures recognised and used its anti-inflammatory and healing effects. It has been known to have antiviral properties in some studies.
Lavender
Antiseptic property of lavender helps to protect abrasions or open wounds from getting infections. It is also known to be anti-inflammatory and analgesic. In addition to all these goodness, it smells heavenly and induces a relaxed and calm feeling. We use only premium English lavender that gives off a sweet overtone in its fragrance. It is no wonder that even children love the smell of our healing balm!

Extra virgin coconut oil
Besides its super yummiliciousness when used in desserts and savoury dishes, coconut oil has high antioxidant properties and is an effective moisturiser for our skin. It also contains fatty acids that have disinfectant and antimicrobial properties. Its vitamin E content is high, which is beneficial for skin repair and nourishment. Coconut oil is also known to prevent premature aging of the skin.
