In 1930, when Mr. Wells developed the leather-palm glove with the brand name White Mule, Wells Lamont became the most prominent, best-selling leather palm glove manufacturer in the United States. The mule image became significant in their logo and tag line "Stubborn about Quality", both of which are still in use today.
