WHAT DOES PARSLEY HAVE TO DO WITH ANTIOXIDANTS? EVERYTHING

Parsley contains a nice amount of antioxidants, which can help reduce the amount of free radicals (substances which may cause skin damage) for your skin.

This product claims to provide moisture for dry, combination, and sensitive skin type. It also claims to be the alternative of cream moisturizer or oil-based hydrator. In other words, you can use it as a moisturizer and be done with your routine. As the name imply, this product also an antioxidant that can protect us from free radicals and to avoid skin cell damage. Basically, to help you to slow down the aging process.

Despite its claim to be the alternative of cream moisturizer, I use is as its name imply, as a serum. I use it at night after I cleanse my face, exfoliate, toner, and essence. Usually, I use 3-5 pumps of the product and it’s sufficient to use all over my face, neck, and decolletage. I apply it by rubbing it gently on my palms first and then lightly dab it all over my face.

The packaging is minimalist and absolutely beautiful. The brown glass bottle is weighty and precious featuring a simple black and cream label and a dropper style applicator. The only fault with this particular product is that the neck of the bottle is slightly too narrow. This combined with the thickness of the serum, tends to lead to spillage down the sides of bottle when the dropper is moved in and out of the bottle as you see above.

After cleansing with philosophy's purity cleanser, I apply my COSRX blackhead power liquid to treat my pores and then apply the serum to hydrate. I apply a squirt (around 5-10 drops) of serum into the palms of my hands and massage it into my skin in an upwards motion. The serum is translucent and gloriously thick, just how I like it! Unlike other heavy serums, it is not sticky at all and absorbs into my skin surprisingly quickly- I'm talking under 1 minute.

I was expecting an intense level of moisture, but once my skin has dried completely, it feels a little tight on my forehead and I can see that the surface of my skin looks slightly 'stretched'. Oddly it does not make much difference when I apply a second helping of serum. Aesop recommends using a facial oil or hydrating cream alongside this serum if your skin is very dry and I definitely agree. I like to apply this serum last though, as it locks in the moisture from the previous products and provides a really smooth and non-tacky surface for my makeup.

One thing that threw me off at first was how thick it’s consistency compared to other serums I had used before. It’s almost like a gel and if I rub it too hard it turn into an almost foamy consistency. Do you know what I’m saying? It’s also quite sticky. But after awhile, I get accustomed to it and began to fully love the product. Since it also works pretty well with the moisturizer I use on top of it.

I also notice that this product does help with the acne problem. Every time I get hormonal acne and I apply this serum at night, I can see that the redness reduced in the morning. And for that, I love this serum. I can’t say much in the anti-aging department since I have yet to show any sign of aging (knock on woods) but let’s see if it helps to slow down the process in the future.

Despite the bank-breaking price, I’d love to purchase this product because it holds a place in my permanent skincare arsenal. Each bottle contains 100ml of the products anyway, so to think of it, it’s not that expensive. I have used 1/3 of the bottle in 3 months, using morning and night, thus it is likely to last around 6 months.
