National Enzyme does not claim this on their literature, so we were unaware of this fact until recently. So I have removed no corn from the does not contain list on the new labels being created. This is not a huge problem because there is no corn protein in the enzymes, which is the allergic fraction of corn, but to be absolutely correct in terminology, we will no longer claim no corn The Dpp IV is cultivated from the aspergillus niger mold . Enzyme complete has a maximum of 3 calories per cap, maybe less. Enzymes, papaya and latex allergies Yes a cross reactivity allergic reaction between papaya and latex is possible. Papain is one of the two enzymes that are known to cause rare allergic responses (the other being lysozyme) : but the source of the reaction isn't conclusive. There are three possibilities based on the food industry. 1. Papain is used in higher concentrations in meat tenderizer so there is a greater chance of dermal exposure to the protein itself. 2. The allergic responses could actually be a response to sulfites in the papain. 3. There is a cross-reactivity from a known latex allergy.
