To combat the numerous mines and IEDs in use in Afghanistan， the Germany Army's Dingo 2 has a V-shaped blast deflector on its bottom that helps protect the vehicle. Although not foolproof， this system is currently the most effective anti-mine armor at weight of any military vehicle. The Dingo also supports an impressive upper-armor system that protects against small arms and artillery shrapnel. Even with the weight of its protection， the Dingo is able to sustain impressive speeds.
