As you can see by the photos, it is not as close a shave as you would get with a razor, but for those times when one is in a hurry, the compactness and ease of use is welcomed. One can cut through even thick, coarse beard hair and will not cut your skin ,even if you have scars or imperfections and the trimmer would easily do edge ups around the neck, sideburns and ears. You can be precise with it, it is light, it is cordless, and you don’t have to worry about keeping everything at the right angle. You won’t yank it out of the wall with a cord dangling. The guards are very secure and they stay put, a good tight fit, so they won’t fall off in mid shave. You can get pretty close to the skin, close to a zero, which is good to use before you shave even. I would say at a push, this little trimmer is good enough for a whole head shave compared to more costly clippers. What I like the most is the way it fits in the hand, smooth yet heavy enough to get a good grip, though being light enough for ease of use, not cheaply made by any means. It is the best quality trimmer I have received as of this time. The reason he says that he loves this Norelco trimmer is that it works great for getting the hairs around his ears and that before with a bigger shaver was awkward, he could not see what he was doing but with this compact size he can see and it is a good trimmer to have. He also loved it for trimming his eye brows. There are several sizes of comb trimmers to choose from when he is doing his eyebrows and he did them faster and neater than ever before. He also loves trimming his sideburns with the Norelco trimmer, a professional looking job it does. When he comes home from a haircut he will use this to trim his neck for stray hairs the barber missed. He also can use it with the convenience of cordless or plugged in while charging even though he has not had to use it plugged in as it seems to keep a full charge for quite a while, he has not charged it since he first received it. I also wanted to note that my husband said it is quiet. Most shavers or trimmers have a loud buzzing but this one was exceptionally quiet.
